Keys are planed to the appropriate thickness before applying new tops so that finished height will match previous height of covered keys; the sides are finished flush to the wood.  We offer prompt service - usual turn-around time is within three working days from when we receive your keys. At the same time, we keep our prices low.  We know of no lower prices with comparable service; compare and see.  With over 38 years of service, we have hundreds of satisfied customers all across the United States, and can furnish references upon request.

Shipping instructions: Number keys 1-88 before removing them from piano.  Pack in strong carton with instructions and plenty of packing material.  Include a note if you want the scraps of old ivory returned; we cannot promise how much of it will be salvaged.  Ship to the above address by UPS, U.S. Mail, etc.  We will bill you on open account, or you may include payment (plus return shipping) with the keys - your choice.  We return ship by UPS unless you request otherwise.

We use red, high density white core felt for rebushing, offer our usual three working day turn-around time from when we get the keys, and billing on open account if you choose.  It is helpful if you can pull a center-pin and a front-rail pin to send with the keys, or send the micrometer measurements of the pins. This allows us to rebush as accurately as possible, although some easing of newly bushed keys will always be necessary.

We use .075 thick keytops, using the best quality materials available to us from our suppliers, and utmost care has been used in recovering your keys.  Since we did not have the piano here to precisely fit each key to the keybed, you may occasionally find that a very small amount of trimming  may be necessary in the notch area when the keys are reinstalled.  Depending on the conditions of the piano, you may find slight adjustments of the center pins sometimes helpful.  The keyfronts may be marginally  thicker than the replaced material, so very slight shimming of the front keyslip is sometimes necessary to prevent keys from sticking when down.
